Artcraft Show

Another reason why I like this job
Re-creation of the Lourdes Grotto
This is the grotto area where the new panel is to be installed- the existing window of St. Marie is shown on the right. To give an idea of scale, the bottom of the panel is at eye-level.
Of course, in this career, I've learned not to assume anything (like window opening sizes) so it had to be verified. In this case with much more than a tape measure- it meant the gritty work of removing the plaster with a saws-all to get to the boarded up window. It is located directly behind the statue of St. Bernadette.

New commssion
I feel privilaged to be commissioned for a panel in a Cleveland area church. Most of the existing windows are truly gems- works of art made by the Mayer of Munich studio in the 30's. It will be a rewarding challenge, but my proposal was in a similar painted style. There is one panel of St. Marie the same size in this grotto area, and all of the other windows are ecclesiastic figures, so I felt my proposal should be consistant.
